Saskatchewan's Outstanding Young Farmers' Program

Farming is a tough, wonderful business - just ask any of us involved.  We curse the weather, yet enjoy every sunrise and sunset.  We work in close contact with our families which is both wonderful and tough.  We are affected by global activities beyond our control yet relish the opportunity to nourish the world and take care of our planet...and yet, we wouldn't have it any other way!  We are proud of what we do!

Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program (OYF) is a unique program designed to recognize farmers and farm couples who exemplify excellence in their profession.  The program is open to farmers or couples who derive at least two-thirds of their income from farming operations.

The Saskatchewan Region of the OYF is one of seven regional programs. Each region holds an event where local nominees are judged on specific criteria. Saskatchewan will host their regional event in June 2017. All regional winners represent their areas at an annual national event where they compete to be named Canada's Outstanding Young Farmers. See our alumni for all our past regional and national winners.
